- Kim Kardashian raises awareness of Armenian genocide on centenary of massacres
The eight-day tour with her sister Khloe, husband Kayne West and their daughter North is the US reality TV star’s first trip to her ancestral homeland.
A huge crowd of cheering fans and paparazzi greeted the Kardashians as they touched down in Armenia on Wednesday.
Kim has booked up two floors in one of the fanciest hotels in the heart of the capital Yerevan for her entourage.
Sisters Kim, 34, and Khloe, 30, have been busy sharing snaps of their sightseeing in the Armenian capital.
Describing her visit as the “journey of a lifetime”, Kim was very vocal about her Armenian heritage.
Sharing a picture of her meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister on Instagram, Kim said: “It was an honour to meet the Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan who expressed how proud they are that we are proud Armenians and we have not forgotten out roots!”
A government statement said: “The Kardashians apologised for not speaking Armenian but said they are learning their native language.”
It added: “They pledged to continue the struggle for international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian genocide.
